Banners
Banners are used by affiliates to promote your company - your products or website. Post Affiliate Pro 4 offers you a lot of types of banners. You can manage them in the section Banners in Merchant panel.If you want to create new banner, go to banner manager, click on "Add banner" and choose its type. Each banner must be assigned to some campaign.
Image banner
One from the most common banners is Image banner. If you are creating it, you need to upload an image which will be viewed as a banner. When a visitor clicks on it, he will be redirected to the Destination URL. You should enter the URL of landing page (e.g main site or index page of your shop). At this page you have to insert click tracking code to track clicks and sales.
If you enable the option Hide banner code, affiliate will get JavaScript version of banner code (not the HTML code). Advantage of the JavaScript version is that you can change code of the banner in merchant panel and it will affect all banners. Even those which are already placed on affiliate pages.
If you set this banner as hidden, it won't be displayed to affiliates. It can be used for banner in progress, or for banner used in rotator, which you don't want to display to affiliates.
Text link
If you want to provide your affiliates the easy option to refer to your site everywhere on their site, you can create for them a text link. All needed info you will enter direct into the form, you do not need to upload anything - no pictures, no special data... Just a simple text.
Flash banner
Sometimes it is useful to offer animated flash banner, which is more eye-catching, than e.g. ordinary image banner. Post Affiliate Pro offers you the possibility to use flash banners. First you have to create swf file (use some flash editor) and upload it (click on "Change Flash SWF"). The swf file have to be created as clickable.
HTML banner
HTML banner is the best option for those who are exacting. With this banner type you can do almost everything. You can add videos to your banner, pictures, applets... anything what can be done with HTML. In HTML banner you can use variables with affiliates data.
If you enable option Show preview in iframe, the banner preview in affiliate panel will be shown in iframe. This can be useful when you have some javascript in HTML code and you do not want it to interact with rest of affiliate panel.
Promo Email
This banner type is for email promotion. You can define the email text you want your affiliates to use to promote you. Again you can use variety of variables to personalize the promotional email. It is HTML code so you can use pictures, links, colored text etc. Affiliate will see his/her email and the only need for him/her is to copy the text and paste it to the email.
Simple PDF
Very popular offline promotion tool is PDF. Your affiliates can send PDF in emails or just print it and leave the papers in some public places. With simple PDF you can create PDF file with all usual instances like linked text (which will not work in paper form of course), pictures, colors... This banner is called "simply PDF" because you can not import already created PDF but you have to design it all and then let PAP to create it. For case when you already have your PDF created, you can use special feature RebrandPDF that is described in special section. The link to this section is at the bottom of this article.
Banner Rotator
Best tool to manage affiliates banners at their own sites is to create banner rotator. Affiliates will see this banner as a JavaScript code but at the web site the code will create the HTML code to show banners. After you create this banner rotator, you have to configure which (existing) banners should rotate there and how often. Option Rank is used for specifying the frequency of appearing in banner rotatro... E.g. you can set image banner with rank 100 and text banner with rank 0 - this mean the image banner will show always in banner rotator and text link never. When you set image banner with rank 70 and text link with rank 30, the image banner will show 7:3 more fluently than text link banner.
