Mail
account represents “Inbox” for one e-mail address.
Support Center will fetch emails from given e-mail account,
and send mails using given SMTP server.
Go
to the Settings
in
the Admin Panel, there are few tabs where you can configure the
system.
To
configure e-mail accounts, choose Application Settings -> Mail Accounts, and click on Add button.
Account Name - unique name of mail account, which identifies account in SupportCenter
Account Email – email address of mail account
From
Name Format field defines how will look From address in mails sent
from SupportCenter.
You have 3 options:
simple mail in format
name of agent and mail address in format
“Agent Name” account@domain.com
from name of mail account and mail address in format
“Account From Name” account@domain.com
Set as default - If you Set mail account as default, account will be used for sending emails that don’t have any account specified (e.g. notifications).
WARNING: Minimum one mail account has to be defined as Default, otherwise system will not work correctly !
Delete Mails - If
you want to delete emails from mail account after fetching them to Support
Center, check Delete Mails.
If you want to load mails also by any other mail clients or you want to archive all your mails, leave it unchecked.
Receiving Mails - For fetching mails from mail account, you
have to specify POP3 access: server, username and password. If your server accepts only secure connections, check Require SSL Connection.
Default POP3 port is 110 if your server doesn't require secure connection. If SSL connection is required, default port is for most of servers 995.
Sending Mails - For sending mails out from SupportCenter through this account is used SMTP server. You need to define url of server, port. If SMTP server requires authentification, check checkbox Require Authentification and fill in username and password. If your server accepts only secure connections, check Require SSL Connection.
Default SMTP
port is 25 if your server doesn't require secure connection. If SSL
connection is required, default port is for most of servers 465.
If you can't use SMTP server for
sending mails, you can check Use Sendmail.
In this case mail will
be sent using standard PHP mail() function, which uses standard mail
settings (in php.ini) on your server (usually UNIX system sendmail program).
Advice:
Create
as many Mail accounts as many emails you want to handle using
Support Center, one for each.
Support Center will then load emails
from all these accounts.
