Post Affiliate Pro Invoicing Explained

Quick Navigation

Introduction

The key point to understand is that you are charged only for your actual account usage. There are no hidden fees; all additional paid features are clearly listed on our pricing page. Our billing system operates on a prepayment basis, meaning you pay in advance for anticipated usage.

For example, if your Post Affiliate Pro plan is $139 per month and you upgrade to the Ultimate plan—priced at $269 per month—halfway through your current billing cycle, you will only be charged a proportional amount for the time you use the Ultimate plan. In this case, instead of paying the full $269 for the Ultimate plan, you would pay only $134.50 for the remaining half of the month. Additional examples and detailed explanations are provided below.

This article does not apply to the Network plan. The Network plan includes all features by default, and it is not possible to upgrade or downgrade from this plan.

Additional Charges Outside Billing Periods

By default, payments for Post Affiliate Pro accounts can be made on a monthly or yearly basis. In addition to these standard payments, certain actions that adjust your account usage may trigger additional charges outside of your regular billing day. However, these actions will not change your billing day or start a new billing period.

When you increase your account usage—such as by adding extra paid addons not included in your current plan, or upgrading to a higher plan—the system recalculates the price for your Post Affiliate Pro account. During this recalculation, the system checks if the new amount is at least 10% higher and at least $20 more than the amount already paid for the current billing period. If both conditions are met, you will be prompted for an additional payment, and an email notification will be sent to the email address provided in your billing details.

You will have a three-day window to decide whether to keep the new usage or make further adjustments.

After three days, another recalculation will occur. If both the 10% and $20 conditions are still met and the additional payment is still required, you will be charged for the new usage. On your next billing day, your invoice will be calculated based on your updated usage.

If an additional payment fails (for example, due to insufficient funds), the system will attempt to charge the amount every 24 hours until successful or until a new billing period begins.

If the system cannot collect payment before the new billing period starts, the invoice for the additional payment will be closed, and the amount due will be added to your next invoice.

If one or both conditions are not met, no additional payment will be required, and the difference will be charged on your next billing day. These additional charges will be visible in the Current summary within the My Account section.

Summary of Billing Adjustment Flow

1. User increases usage or upgrades plan.
2. System recalculates price.
3. If new amount is ≥10% and ≥$20 higher than the current period:
   - User is prompted for additional payment.
   - Email notification is sent.
   - 3-day window to confirm changes.
4. After 3 days, system checks conditions again and charges if still met.
5. If payment fails, retries every 24 hours until new period.
6. Unpaid amount is rolled into the next invoice if not collected in time.
7. If conditions are not met, charges are added to next regular invoice.

For better understanding, the examples below outline when additional charges may be applied:

  1. Today is the first day of the month (1.1.), and you have recently upgraded your Trial account to the Pro plan. Your current prepaid monthly usage is $139. Upgrading to the Ultimate plan tomorrow will trigger an additional payment outside the regular billing cycle, because the amount constitutes 87.3% of the prepaid usage and, at the same time, totals $121.32. Therefore, both the 10% and $20 conditions are met. An email notification will be sent, and the difference of $121.32 for the Ultimate plan for 30 days will be charged in three days (4.1.).

  2. Today is the first day of the month (1.1.), and you have recently upgraded your Trial account to the Ultimate plan. Your current prepaid monthly usage is $269. Adding the Audit Log extra paid add-on today will not trigger an additional payment outside the regular billing cycle because the price for the add-on for a full month is only $17, and thus, the $20 condition is not met. An email notification will not be sent, and the difference of $17 for all additional add-ons for a full month will be charged on your next billing day (1.2.).

  3. Today is the first day of the month (1.1.), and you have recently upgraded your Trial account to the Ultimate plan. Your current prepaid monthly usage is $269. Adding all available extra paid add-ons today will trigger an additional payment outside the regular billing cycle, because the amount constitutes 26.8% of the prepaid usage and, at the same time, totals $72. Therefore, both the 10% and $20 conditions are met. An email notification will be sent, and the difference of $72 for the add-ons for a full month will be charged in three days (4.1.).

  4. Today is the first day of the month (1.1.), and you have recently upgraded your Trial account to the Pro plan. Your current prepaid monthly usage is $139. If you upgrade to the Ultimate plan tomorrow but downgrade back to the Pro plan two days later, this will not trigger an additional payment outside the regular billing cycle. During the first recalculation on 2.1., the amount constituted 87.3% of the prepaid usage and, at the same time, totaled $121.32, so both the 10% and $20 conditions were met. However, during the second confirmation recalculation three days later, the additional usage for the Ultimate plan from 2.1. to 4.1. accounted for only 9.05% of the prepaid usage and $12.58, so neither condition (10% or $20) was met. An email notification will not be sent, and the difference of $12.58 for the three days on the Ultimate plan will be charged on your next billing day (1.2.).

Removing Add-ons or Downgrading Your Plan

When you remove paid addons that are not included in your current plan, or downgrade your plan to a lower tier, the system recalculates the price for your Post Affiliate Pro account. Since you have already prepaid for your monthly usage, the price difference will not be refunded. Instead, the amount will be added as extra credit to your next invoice.

The extra credit will not appear as a negative 'To pay' value in the Current Summary section under My Account. It will only be visible in your next monthly or yearly summary.

  1. Today is the first day of the month (1.1.), and you have recently upgraded your Trial account to the Ultimate plan. Your current prepaid monthly charge is $269. If you downgrade to the Pro plan tomorrow, you will receive a credit of $125.80, which will be applied to your next payment on your upcoming billing date (1.2.).

  2. Today is the first day of the month (1.1.), and you have recently upgraded your Trial account to the Ultimate plan with all additional add-ons. Your current prepaid monthly charge is $341. If you remove all extra paid add-ons, you will receive a $72 credit, which will be applied to your next payment on your upcoming billing date (1.2.).

Monthly and Yearly Summaries

Once your billing period ends, a PDF usage summary will be emailed to the address configured in your Post Affiliate Pro/Network billing settings. The current usage details are likewise available in the My Account section.

Although the summary is always generated in US dollars ($), for EU customers the price on the invoice is recalculated and charged in euros (€) based on the current exchange rate on the billing date.
