9. Test everything & promote your affiliate program

Test your affiliate program workflow

Once your Post Affiliate Pro account is fully configured and integrated, it’s important to test everything to make sure all is working as intended.

Simulate the signup, login, and referral process from the affiliate's perspective and the approval/review process from the merchant's perspective:

1. Sign up as a new affiliate from your mini-site.
2. If you set up manual affiliate approval during the initial configuration, wait for the email notification sent before new signup approval. Once you receive the email notification, as the merchant approve your new affiliate in Affiliates > Affiliates manager. This should trigger another email notification sent to approved affiliates.
   If you set up automatic affiliate approval, only the email notification to approved affiliates is sent, and it is not needed to approve the new affiliate as a merchant.
3. Log in to the affiliate panel from your mini-site.
4. Get the general affiliate link from the top header, or any other banner from Promotion > Banners & links, and place it on a test page.
5. Click on the affiliate link or banner and check if your click is recorded in Transactions > Clicks list in your merchant panel, and in Reports > Clicks list in the affiliate panel. The click may take up to 5 minutes to appear.
6. If a click has been successfully recorded, make a test purchase and check if the commission is recorded in Transactions > Commissions in your merchant panel, and in Reports > Commissions in the affiliate panel. Again, it might take up to 5 minutes for the commission to appear.

Promote your affiliate program

After you have successfully fully tested your Post Affiliate Pro account, you are ready to start promoting your new affiliate program and recruit affiliates. Promote your affiliate program on your website and optionally submit it to any affiliate program directory, e.g. https://www.affiliateprograms.com.
