Understanding the Post Affiliate Pro API: Structure, Layers, and Key Requirements
Post Affiliate Pro operates on two main levels:
- Client – An AJAX application running in the browser
- Server – A PHP-based back end
The client communicates with the server using requests and responses encoded in JSON format.
As a result, the application natively supports an API. Everything that can be controlled in the merchant or affiliate control panel can also be accessed from an external application using the same API calls.
This includes retrieving, editing, and adding affiliates, banners, campaigns, transactions, configuring settings, obtaining statistics data, and more—for both merchants and affiliates.
API Layers
Communication level Requests and responses are in raw JSON format.
Low level API Calls of Gpf_Rpc_GridRequest, Gpf_Rpc_FormRequest.
High level API Objects like Pap_Api_Affiliate, Pap_Api_Commission.
Requirements for using API classes can be found here.
All dates sent and received through the API are in the server's timezone (by default, Post Affiliate Pro uses the 'America/Los_Angeles' timezone). Dates displayed in the merchant and affiliate panels are shifted to the client’s timezone. Read more here.
