Types of Cookies Created by Post Affiliate Pro

Post Affiliate Pro creates several types of cookies:

  • Browser Cookies (1st and 3rd Party): These cookies are stored on the domain where your click tracking code executes (known as first-party cookies) and also on the domain where Post Affiliate Pro is installed (referred to as third-party cookies).
  • HTML5 Local Storage Cookie

The cookies created by Post Affiliate Pro can be divided into two main categories:

1. Tracking Cookies

  • PAPVisitorId: The primary tracking cookie that stores the ID of the website's visitor. This cookie is valid for 365 days.
  • PAPCookie_Imp_*: Stores information about the type of impression (raw or unique). This cookie is also valid for 365 days.
  • PAPAffiliateId: Holds the last referral ID while the last click is processed via a cron job. The validity of this cookie is 5 minutes.

2. Interface/Application Cookies

  • A_auth: Authentication and "remember me" token for the affiliate panel. The cookie lifetime is 14 days.
  • M_auth: Authentication and "remember me" token for the merchant panel. The cookie lifetime is 14 days.
  • M_pap_sid/M: Contains the ID of the active session in the merchant panel. This cookie is valid for the duration of the session only.
  • A_pap_sid/A: Contains the ID of the active session in the affiliate panel. This cookie is valid for the duration of the session only.
  • gpf_language: Stores the selected language for the merchant or affiliate panel. The cookie lifetime is 20,000,000 seconds (approximately 231 days).

No Longer Used Cookies (used before version 4.4)

  • PAPCookie_FirstClick: Stored information about the first click of a visitor on the tracked site.
  • PAPCookie_LastClick: Stored information about the last click on the tracked site.
  • PAPCookie_Sale: Stored information about the affiliate, channel, and campaign where a sale would be registered.
  • PAPCookie_Time: Contained the number of clicks.
