Every campaign in Post Affiliate Pro operates under one of three statuses: Active, Paused, or Stopped. Each status determines how affiliates interact with the campaign and how tracking is managed. Below is a detailed explanation of these statuses and their operational impact.
Active Campaigns
An Active campaign is fully operational and available for affiliates to promote. When a campaign is set to Active:
- Affiliates can view and promote it using their marketing channels.
- All clicks, conversions, and commissions are tracked and recorded in real-time.
- Referred visitors and resulting orders are attributed to the campaign as expected.
This is the standard status for campaigns intended to generate revenue and engage affiliates.
Paused Campaigns
A Paused campaign remains visible to affiliates in their dashboard, and its banners and promotional materials are accessible. However:
- The campaign will not track any new clicks, sales, or commissions.
- Clicks on banners from paused campaigns do not create affiliate-visitor relationships, meaning the visitor will be unreferred and their orders will not be tracked under this campaign.
- If a visitor previously clicked a banner when the campaign was active, a subsequent sale may still be saved, but the system will attempt to attribute it to the default campaign. If the default campaign is also paused, the sale will not be recorded.
Use the Paused status for temporary halts, such as inventory shortages or strategic adjustments, while keeping campaign materials accessible to affiliates.
Stopped Campaigns
A Stopped campaign is completely inactive and differs from Paused campaigns in visibility:
- The campaign is invisible to affiliates—they cannot see its banners, links, or promotional materials in their panels.
- No new activity, tracking, or commissions occur for stopped campaigns.
- Stopped campaigns may still appear in historical reports for reference.
Set a campaign to Stopped when it has concluded or you intend to retire it permanently from your affiliate program.
