The aim of this article is to help us and our customers identify which kind of 3rd party integration is the person who is contacting us interested in and will serve as a crossroad to different articles explaining these different approaches. No matter what term you use for this kind of tracking we can divide these 3rd party integration approaches to 4 groups:
1. Merchant who owns Post Affiliate Pro or Network is also an affiliate for some 3rd party and would like to promote offers from this 3rd party via his own Post Affiliate Pro / Network program. (Postback). This approach is described at length here.
2. Merchant who owns Post Affiliate Pro or participates in Post Affiliate Network for any reason does not wish to integrate his website with PAP's tracking codes and would still want to track in server to server fashion. (S2S). This approach is in fact very similar to the one above, however for general S2S guidance we created a new guide here.
3. Merchant who owns Post Affiliate Pro or Network uses it to promote his own website and requires to resend information about every single commission tracked to some external script/software. (Callback). This approach is described here.
4. Affiliate of a merchant who owns Post Affiliate Pro or Network would want to resend information about every commission tracked in his affiliate account to some external script/software or would want to run his own tracking script on the merchant's thank you page. (Piggyback). This approach is described here.
